Text: I Kings 17:7-16 / 2 Kings 4:1-7
1. Is it ok to ask God {Y} when……?
A) Widow of Zarephath
-why are you asking me ; why are we victims of this drought. Elijah prophesied no rain.
B. Certain widow- her husband was faithful? Why are we suffering with death, debt, and dysfunction?
C) The two prophets- Why so mush suffering? See John 9: 1-3/ Isaiah 57:1,2
2) Use what you have, even if what you have doesn’t seem to be enough.
A) Widow of Zarephath- water, flour, oil, jar, sticks, and ….the Promise!!
B. Certain Widow- jar of oil, neighbors, and the Promise!!
– remember what God has already given you, use your resources.
– you’ve already got the Promise
3) Be ready to receive help! Proverbs 16:18
-God will put people in your path.
How to……..?
A) Elijah ….Fewer words are better when they’re in the storm. They might only need you to listen.
B. Both widows (1 Kings 17:15 & 2 Kings 4:1) (See Genesis 50:20/ Esther ?
4) Is there anything in common? The common are the oil and vessels.
-we are the vessels
A) Widows, prophets, oil?
B. God will deliver us!!
-God wants us to be better after the storm 1 Peter 1:6-9
2 Corinthians 1:8-11. Raises the dead
dead relationships, dead dreams, dead spiritually
* make this a memory verse 2 Corinthians 1:10
